Ann E. Coulter has beautiful large pastel drawings. These pieces are about 32"X32" and larger! They make me want to start painting and drawing from photos again. Nature too, my favorite. Her work is so delicate but yet I feel empowered looking at them.
I found this new artist Catherine Campbell whose work is so simple, yet detailed, flirty, and creative. Such a great sence of design and great idea for students. Love the idea of drawing mixed with fabric/paper as simple pattern, and just her use of color as pattern. So great.
Casey Gray's work is made entirely of stencils and spray paint. Such fantastic sence of composition, and I love the patterns created and colors used. I of course love the imagery and content as well.
Love, love, love, Kelsey Brookes! His work is so fun but serious at the same time. I guess that's what happens when you worked as a biochemist. Straight from his bio: Kelsey Brookes is a former biochemist who attributes his raw style to an education system that "refuses to teach scientists to draw.” He abandoned biochemistry because, “I thought I was going to be there for a few months to make some money and get out of there. Four years later I was left wondering if I had become what I always despised – the funny guy at the water cooler, except not so funny. I was the confused, not so funny guy at the water cooler.” Science’s loss is art’s gain
Heathe Nash is an amazing South African artist who started just messin around with garbage and now has an entire company employing many people to create his beautiful plastic lights.
Hanna Werning is a fantastic graphic designer whose designs apply to wallpaper, clothing, installations, pillows, dishware, etc. I swore I would never do wallpaper again, but I think I'll be taking that back.
This is truely my new favorite artist, and definaltly one I will be checking up on often. Blaine Fontana is a very talented and remarkable artist. He also has a true vision that I simply adore. My favorite works are his newer mixed media pieces, but his paintings are amazing as well, and also show a different style of his.
I love her use of pattern and color. Her newer work reminds me of paint by number, which I used to love as a child. Her is a link to read a bio and see a neat package design she made.
Tord Boontje has always been one of my favorie artists. You have to go to this link to see his beautiful installation of winter wonderland. I am shopping for a new chandelier, I think this is perfect!!
